Mirella DiCasagrande, age 74, of Churchville, MD passed away on February 19, 2017 in Arlington, Virginia. Born in Cartosio, Italy, she was the daughter of Massimiliano and Olimpia (Pettinati) Pasini and was the wife of the late Captain Emanuele Lorenzo DiCasagrande. She was an adored wife, mother, teacher, and humanitarian, and never stopped giving the best of herself to those around her. Affectionately called "Nonna" by her 11 grandchildren, she was a shining light and role model of love, humility, and courage.
Mrs. DiCasagrande is survived by her children, Rita Laura Olsen and husband, Adam, of Arlington, VA, Marco DiCasagrande and wife, Kristin, of Baldwin, and Luca DiCasagrande and wife, Lauren, of Bel Air; six sisters--Angela, Paola, Claudia, Fernanda, Laura, and Maria Grazia--and a brother Achille in Italy; and 11 grandchildren, Anna, Max, Ava, Mathew, Alexander, Andrew, Ella, Christopher, Juliana, Sophia and Claira.
In lieu of flowers, Nonna kindly asked that donations be made to: Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, in honor/memory of Mirella DiCasagrande. http://lombardi.georgetown.edu/about/support/ways.html
