Milton was a resident of Green Meadows at Dover, DE for the past two years. He died peacefully in his sleep from complications of Alzheimer's Disease, at 3:20 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010.
Milton, son of the late George R. Habicht and Jennie May Graser Habicht, was born on August 23, 1922 in Baltimore, MD. While growing up, he spent many summers on farms owned by relatives in PA. He served in the U.S. Army, receiving a Purple Heart during WWII in the European Theater. Milton retired from Bethlehem Steel in 1982 after 34 years of service. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, and later on, for Harford County Parks and Recreation in their swim programs. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on their maintenance committee as well as volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
He was married to his first wife, and loving mother of his three children, Alice (Becky) for 48 years until her death in 1992. They spent many happy years at their beachfront home in Abingdon on the Bush River.
Milton remarried in 1993 to a dear friend, Dorothy (nee) Herbert until her death in 2001. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Carol Habicht in 1956, a daughter-in-law, Patricia (nee Staubitz) Habicht in 1994, and a brother, Walter Habicht. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Seigert of Joppa, MD., brother; David Habicht of Glen Arm, MD; his son Daniel Milton Habicht of Randallstown, MD; his daughter, Karen May Murphy and son-in-law, Richard James Murphy, of Dover, DE; and four grandchildren, Kenneth and Jennifer Habicht, and Ryan and Nicholas Murphy.
