Milton Lee Mitchell, age 80, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on February 26, 2012 at the Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center, Baltimore, MD. Born in Fries, VA, on October 31, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert Cummings and Ruby Molly Ward Mitchell. He graduated from Fries High School in 1951. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in the Korean War in LaRochelle, France in the Quarter Master Core. He moved to Bel Air, MD in 1958 and worked at the Hub Department Store for 25 years. He was a business manager at Eastern Christian College for several years and then returned to retail to manage Finklesteins in Bel Air. He was a founding member and servant of Creswell Christian Church for over 50 years.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Margie Dean Akers Mitchell of Bel Air, MD; son, Robert Mitchell and his wife, Jacqueline, of Street, MD; daughters, Deborah Mitchell Winik and her husband, Jay, and Susanne Mitchell, all of Millsboro, DE; grandchildren, Dana Kirk and his wife, Melissa Lynn, Laura Beth Winik, Travis Lee and Shelby Joy Mitchell; and great grandchildren, Gabrielle Layman and McKenzie Ryan and Richard Kyle.
Pallbearers will be Dana Kirk, Travis Mitchell, Jay Winik, Mac Akers, Jeff Hanks, John Ward, Jeff Ward, Mike Petty and Kyle Richard.
