Mildred "Millie" A. Smelter

Mildred A. Smelter, “Millie”, age 89, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on January 27, 2023 at Senator Bob Hooper House. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Ernest and Eva Mildred Suitt. She had a career in banking at Mercantile Trust and Deposit Company and worked as a secretary for Fallston High School for 18 years. She was a member of Spry Island Sailing Club and the Red Hat Society. Millie was an avid sailor of the Chesapeake Bay, a master bridge player, knitter, sewer, swimmer, and a scrumptious baker. Millie was awarded for her great sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling internationally to visit her daughters in Australia, Dubai, Guam, Puerto Rico and Singapore.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 67 years, Leonard Smelter; daughters, Lisa Cadiz and Laurie Biggs.
