Mildred Joan Merrill

MILDRED JOAN MERRILL, age 72, of Joppa, died at her home on August 3, 2004. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas, Sr. and Mildred Della Lilly Coard. She worked as the school secretary at Mountain Christian Church School. A resident of Harford County for 40 years, she enjoyed watercolor painting. She was a member of Mountain Christian Church for 36 years, taught Sunday School for 25 years, and was involved with the youth group. She helped at the Tabitha House.

Mrs. Merrill is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dame Evans Merrill; three sons, John L. Merrill and his wife, Dawn R. of Conowingo; Robert D. Merrill and his wife, Ginger S. of New London, New Hampshire; William T. Merrill and his wife, Kimberly L. of Joppa; two brothers, Charles T. Coard, Jr. of Towson; John I. Coard of Sebastian, Florida; three sisters, Mary J. Walker of Towson; M. Della Baur of Forest Hill; Barbara L. Greeley of Timonium; three grandchildren, Stephen Thomas Merrill of Joppa; Elizabeth Claire Merrill of New London, New Hampshire; Tyler Evans Merrill of Joppa; and one aunt, Zoe E. Duke of Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, William C. Coard.
