Mildred E. Mclane

Mildred E. McLane, age 83, of Conowingo, MD passed away on January 26, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Firman Homer "Fred" Humme and Margaret (Gittings) Humme, and wife of the late John Richard McLane. Formerly of Pittsburgh, PA and Edgewood, MD, she was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she attended Tuesday morning Bible study, and she also sang in the choir at Green Valley Methodist Church in Shippingport, PA. She was a member of the Shippingport Ladies Auxiliary and the Southside Elementary PTA where she served as Treasurer. An avid reader, she wrote poetry and enjoyed working her mind. She and her late husband loved to travel and had been across the United States several times.

Mrs. McLane is survived by her son, Robert D. "Dean" McLane and wife, Rose, of Bear, DE; daughter, Debora L. Kauffer of Conowingo; grandchildren, Laurie Kauffer, Amy Kauffer, Dennis McLane, Katlyn Cody McLane and R.J. Osiolek; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Bud Humme of Chester, WV; and sister, Maureen Wells of New Cumberland, WV. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Humme and son-in-law Victor Kauffer.
