Michael Eugene Kloid

December 3, 1955 — February 10, 2025

Michael Eugene Kloid, 69, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away on February 10, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph and Shirley (Bush) Kloid and the beloved husband of Michele (Hoppa) Kloid.

Michael had a deep love for music and was the lead singer of the band High Sierra. His passion for music remained with him throughout his life. An outdoorsman at heart, he could often be found gathered around a fire, enjoying the company of family and friends.

For over 35 years, Michael worked as a dedicated mail carrier for the United States Post Office. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends, especially when visiting the beach with his grandchildren. A lifelong sports fan, he never missed the chance to watch his grandson Roy play, cheering proudly from the stands. He also loved watching Orioles and Ravens games and supporting his favorite teams.

Most of all, Michael will be remembered for his kindness, heart of gold, deep voice, sense of humor, and the ability to connect with everyone and make them feel loved. He lit up every room he walked into, was the life of the party, and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Michele; his devoted daughter, Amanda Lee Kloid (Roy) Best; his brother, Glen (Lisa) Kloid; and his cherished grandchildren, Roy Best and Rory Best. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Ray (the late Becky) Hoppa, Patrick (Patty) Hoppa, Bob (Sheila) Hoppa, and Timothy (Lisa) Hoppa and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Thomas Hoppa, and sister-in-law, Nancy Hoppa.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tree-Mendous Maryland (https://www.shopdnr.com/tree-mendousmarylandgiftoftrees.aspx) in Michael’s memory.
