Michael Lee Brooks

Michael Lee Brooks, age 85, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born in Baltimore, he was the beloved son of the late George and Mary (Loretta) Brooks. Michael proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. Following retirement, he went on to continue his career as a US Civil Servant. Michael remained a dedicated member of the American Legion Post #39 in Bel Air.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Brooks, with whom he shared sixty-three wonderful years of marriage. Michael will be remembered for his deep appreciation of the outdoors, especially his love of boating and crabbing along the Chesapeake Bay. He also took great pride in caring for his family, his home, and his vehicles which he loved and detailed with meticulous care.

Michael’s warmth, loyalty, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his son, Michael L. Brooks, Jr, his wife Melissa; daughters, Leah Marie Stewart, her husband Eric, Holly Ann Robinson, boyfriend, Rich Clement; sister, Sharon Baughan, her husband Charles; grandchildren, Meghan Robinson, Samantha M. Brooks, Michael Robinson and Matthew Robinson.
