Mercedes Johnsen

Mercedes Johnsen, age 90, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on July 29, 2014 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Stanley and Martha Dorsch Deering and wife of the late Lyman Johnsen. She lived in Pacifica, CA for about 45 years where she worked, for 33 years, in the offices of Burlingame-Pacifica Medical Group for Dr. Green. In 1995 she moved to Harford County and was a volunteer at Harford Memorial Hospital until 2013. An avid reader, she loved gardening, traveling and bowling.

Mrs. Johnsen is survived by her daughter, Mercedes Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and husband, Walter R., of Abingdon; granddaughter, Tammy L. Shatting of Oakley, CA; great-granddaughters, Kayla, Taylor and Alexandra Jackson of Oakley, CA; and a niece and nephew.
