Melvin L. Burns

Melvin L. Burns, age 94, of Kingsville, MD, passed away on August 23, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Lawrence Andrew and Florence Alline Walker Burns. He worked at Western Electric from 1940 until 1985 and at Giant Food Stores from 1967 to 1984.

Mr. Burns is survived by his wife of over 72 years, Virginia Burns; son, Richard D. Burns of Kingsville; daughter, Melva Bomer and husband, John Polkowski, of Elkton; brother, Raymond Burns of FL; grandchildren, Rebecca Northwood and John "Jay" Stewart; great-grandchildren, Christopher Northwood, Brooke Stewart and Megan Northwood; and his two four legged friends, Taffy and Tigger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his great-grandchild, Summer Daye Stewart.
