Melva Lee Bomer

Melva Lee Bomer, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and friend, age 80, of Darlington, Maryland, passed away on August 29, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Melvin and Virginia (Kozlowski) Burns. 

She retired from Citi Financial as an Assistant Manager in 2008 after 25 years of service. She could regularly be found in attendance at Grace Episcopal Church in Darlington, Md. 

To say Melva loved her dogs, Mugsy and Capone, would be an understatement. They were the joy of her life. 
      
Melva is survived by her brother, Richard Burns; son, John and wife, Lesa Stewart; daughter, Rebecca and husband, Todd Northwood; grandchildren, Christopher Northwood, Brooke and husband, Mark Maxey and Megan Northwood. 
 
In addition to her parents, her granddaughter, Summer Daye Stewart, and unparalleled companion dog, Saint Taffy, preceded her in death.

Melva’s family invites extended family and friends to join us for a celebration of life on Saturday, September 30, 2023, beginning at 11:30 am in the Sanctuary of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church located at 1022 Main Street, Darlington, MD 21034, for a service immediately followed by a lunch and fellowship.
