Melrose M. Scarborough, age 95, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Bel Air, died on August 18, 2011 at Sunshine Acres in White Hall, MD. Born in Stafford, MD, she was the daughter of the late Philip Farrell and Emily Forwood Holloway McGibney. Mrs. Scarborough was home schooled and then went on to complete two college degrees from Harford Community College. During the second World War, she was a "Rosie the Rivetter" at Glen L. Martin Company. She retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, where she was a clerk. She was an artist and enjoyed art, people and especially children.
Ms. Scarborough is survived by her son, Donald P. Scarborough and wife, Wilma, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Lois Scarborough of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Bradford McGibney of Magnolia, MD and Forwood McGibney and wife, Jane, of Street, MD; three grandchildren, Susan Scarborough Daugherty and husband, Kent, of Brogue, PA, Stacy Stathopoulos and husband, Nick, of Hunt Valley, MD, and Philip L. Scarborough and wife, Stacy, of Jacksonville, FL; and five great-grandchildren, Frank, Patrick, and Madison Daugherty, John Stathopoulos, and Parker P. Scarborough. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Emily McGibney Blackburn, brother, Philip F. McGibney III and two sisters-in-law - Rose Clark McGibney and Margaret Heaps McGibney.
