Maxine F. Behr, age 88, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on July 30, 2023. Born in Jones Springs, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Kees) Shipper and loving wife of 33 years to Leo John Behr. Maxine loved the Lord with all her heart and was a life-long member of Grace Assembly of God in Bel Air, MD. Every morning, Maxine would make coffee and read her Bible and devotions. She was an incredibly loving mother and grandmother who patiently taught both her children and grandchildren about loving and obeying Jesus from cradle roll. She loved gardening and would plant tomato plants and flowers in the summer. Maxine was an excellent cook and would host and entertain family and friends in her younger years. She loved to read, feed the birds, boating, and catching crabs with Leo.
In addition to her husband, Maxine is survived by her daughters, Terri Bell, and Andrea Farmer; grandchildren, Jonelle, Amber, and Benjamin; great-grandsons, Derek Timlin, and Dillon Vincent; sisters, Wanda Tomlin Rose, Margaret Myers, and Geneva Barnhart; brother, Regnial Shipper; and nieces, Tina Barnish, and Cynthia McCabe.
In addition to her parents Maxine was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Charles Bascue, and brother, Robert Shipper.
