Mattie Reid Roberts

Mattie Reid Roberts, age 93, of Abingdon, MD passed away on February 26, 2018 at her home. Born in Cherry Lane, NC, she was the daughter of Arlie and Hattie (Watson) Crouse and was the wife of the late Wayne S. Roberts. She worked at Bata Shoe Factory for 40 years and was a member of Upper Falls Rebekah Lodge #78 on Bradshaw Road. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with her friends.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Mahaffey and Priscilla Spies; son, John (Shirley) Wayne Roberts; grandchildren, John John LaRosa, Angela Thomas, Melissa Eckman, and John Roberts, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Keith, Kevin, Britney, Jordon, Mattie, Cole, Mallary and Madalyn; and great great-grandchildren, Chase and Aubriela; sister, Aurlene Neuschwanger; and brothers Vearl "Rabbit" Crouse and Earl Crouse.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, Charles "Buster", grandson, Timmy Spies, and sister, Ann Lee Manos.
