Matthew Baillie Oberholtzer

October 8, 1977 — July 5, 2014

Matthew Baillie Oberholtzer, age 36, of Baltimore, MD, passed away on July 5, 2014. Born in Moscow, ID, he is the son of William Irving and Patricia Annelle Baillie Oberholtzer of Aberdeen, MD. He had lived all over the world, including Turkey, with his military family and then in 1994 moved to Harford County. An environmental and civil engineer, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Baltimore and his Masters from the University of Maryland. He was currently in the PHD program at Johns Hopkins and spoke different languages to include German, Spanish and Turkish. He held membership in several professional and humanitarian organizations. He enjoyed going to the opera, museums and the theatre. He also enjoyed soccer and playing guitar and keyboards.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Harry and Jane Oberholtzer; aunts and uncles, Robert and Lucy Oberholtzer, Ronald and Mary Santi, Doreen Lindroos, Cynthia and James Madsen, Melvin and Alice Baillie, Scott and Kathleen Baillie, and Carol and Mike Inks; cousins, Luke Oberholtzer, Bob and Mike Santi, Tammy Lindroos, Wendy Eberhardt, Abigail Inks, and Erika, Simeon, Josiah and Gianna Baillie; and his former wife, Rosemary Oberholtzer.
