Mary Zarski (nee Prominski), 89, a resident of Lorien Bel Air, died on January 11. She grew up in Old Bridge, New Jersey and graduated from South River High School in 1943.
She was blessed with abundant musical talent and performed as a soprano soloist, in addition to appearing in numerous theatrical and musical productions. She worked in the family floral business until she married the late Dr. Walter Zarski in 1951. They resided in South River, New Jersey until 2001 when they moved to Maryland.
Mary and her husband traveled extensively during their 54 years of marriage. They also formed the Melodia-ZPA choir in Perth Amboy, New Jersey where they performed the music of Poland in the mother tongue, preserving this artistic heritage.
Mary is survived by one sister--Della Munroe (and her husband, Tom) of Morgantown, West Virginia. A brother, Dr. John Prominski, and sister, Irene Hicks, preceded her in death.
She is also survived by two daughters--Jane Thompson (and her husband, Gene) and Mimi Guercio (and her husband, Steve). Her son, Mark, preceded her in death.
Grandchildren include Jason Zarski (and his wife, Tara); Jennifer Pudelko Kee (and her husband, Mike); Walter Pudelko; and Allison Zarski Balbo (and her husband, Dave). Step-grandchildren include Jason Thompson (and his wife, Leslie); Ryan Thompson; Tony Guercio (and his wife, Kelly); Gary Guercio (and his wife, Jenny), and Joe Guercio (and his wife, Chrissy). She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org)
Burial will occur at a later date at The Cemetery of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Doylestown, PA.
