Mary Wright Davis, age 95, of Havre de Grace, MD, died on March 21, 2014 at Brightview Assisted Living in Bel Air, MD. Born in Washington, DC, she resided most of her life in Chevy Chase, Maryland where she shared her love of animals with her two sisters. She served the U.S. Congress for 45 years, most notably serving as lead secretary for John F. Kennedy from 1947 to 1952.
Miss Davis is survived by her nephews, John Fulton Davis of Havre de Grace, MD and Reid Sterling Davis of Alexandria, VA.; and nieces, Linda Davis Chamberlain of Boerne, TX; and Carole Ann Best of Hana Maui, HI. In addition to her parents, the late Calvin Crawford and Irene Douglass Davis, she was predeceased by her brothers, Calvin Crawford Davis Jr., George Anthony Davis and John Douglass Davis; and sisters, Martha Wallace Davis and Margaret Irene Davis.
