MARY VIRGINIA MINOR, age 85, of Bel Air, died at her son¡¦s home in Whiteford on July 7, 2003. Born in Piney Creek, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Rebecca Ann Moxley McMillan and the wife of the late Robert Edmund Minor. She relocated to Bel Air in the mid 1940¡¦s. She worked as a seamstress at Gleneagles for 35 years before retiring in 1982 and had a home daycare until her late 70¡¦s. Still too energetic to stay home she worked at Wendy¡¦s in Bel Air until last fall. She loved the Lord and her church, Welcome Home Baptist Church, where she was involved in the Women in Action Group. Always wanting to help those in need she gathered clothing, prepared food for those sick or who had lost loved ones, and was well known for her delicious cakes and fudge.
Mrs. Minor is survived by one son, Edward G. McMillan of Whiteford; one sister, Stella Stump of Princess Anne, Maryland; two grandchildren, Mike McMillan of Bel Air; Don McMillan of Darlington; seven great-grandchildren, Craig McMillan; Alicia McMillan; Kevin McMillan; Kelly McMillan; Cody McMillan; Kristen McMillan Brilhart; Lauren McCormick; two great-great-grandchildren, Brandon Brilhart; and Alexia Hankey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Maryland, North Carolina, and Texas. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Ray McMillan; Armie McMillan; and one sister, Faye Adams.
Pallbearers will be: Harrison Childers, Melvyn Childers, Marshall Childers, Richard Cole and her grandsons, Mike and Don McMillan.
