M. THELMA DAVIS, age 94, of Forest Hill, died in Rock Spring Village on May 30, 2003. Born in Richwood, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William Walker and Maude Stella Wheeler Winchell. She grew up on a farm in Ewan, New Jersey. After graduating from Glassboro High School in 1927, she moved to Philadelphia and worked at Penn National Bank where she met her future husband. They were married in 1936 and lived in Havertown, Pennsylvania from 1939 until 1998 when they moved to Forest Hill, Maryland. She was active in the Brookline Women’s Club for many years and participated in a book review group. She was an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Edward B. Davis, Sr. ; one son, Edward B. Davis, Jr. and his wife, Priscilla Davis of Fallston; two grandchildren, Polly McGinnis of Bel Air; Brent Davis of Bel Air; and two great grandchildren, Connor and Aidan McGinnis, both of Bel Air. In addition to her parents , she was predeceased by two sisters, Marjorie Winchell and Doris Banff.
Pallbearers were: Harold Hubble, Ken Tipton, Paul Ostheimer, Brent Davis, Rusty McGinnis, and Edward Davis, Jr.
