Mary Knopp Smith

Mary Knopp Smith, age 84, of Street, Maryland, passed away on September 28, 2024, at Franklin Square Hospital in Rosedale, Maryland. Born in Cooptown, Maryland, she was the daughter of Albert William and Daisy Louise (Pyle) Knopp and the beloved wife of the late Richard Wilson Smith. Mary was a dedicated member of William Watters United Methodist Church since 1959 and worked for many years as a Clerk Accountant for the Harford County Public School System. Family and church were at the center of her life.

Mary found great joy in gardening, raking leaves, and taking care of her home, always creating a warm and loving environment for her family.

She is survived by her son, Steve Smith of Catonsville, MD; her grandchildren, Richard (Kelsey) Smith and Jennifer (Brad) Sikorski; her great-grandchildren, R.J. Smith, Peyton Smith, and Theo Smith; and her sister, Phyllis Rightmire. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Smith, and her brothers, Albert, Samuel, and Alton Knopp.
