Mary Jane Ross, age 70, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away on August 16, 2024. She was born April 25th in Tacoma, Washington.
Mary worked for 20 years with the US Army Civilian Human Resources Agency before retiring. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with family, and devoting time to her passion for creativity.
Mary was an exceptional artist, her artistic journey included painting, drawing, wood burning, and even sewing. Beyond her artistic talents, Mary had a profound love for the outdoors. She was an avid fisherman, proudly recalling the time she caught a fish in Alaska that was taller than she was. Nature was her sanctuary; she admired all its beauty and developed a love for rock collecting at an early age. But most of all, she loved her family. Mary often spoke of how grateful she was for her husband and how proud she was of her children and grandchildren.
Remaining to cherish Mary’s memory are her husband of 34 years, Ricky “Rick” Ross; son, Jonathan "Jon" Davis and wife Shana Davis of Joppa, MD; daughter, Monica Devine and husband John Devine of Ketchikan, AK; and her three adored grandchildren, LillyAnn Jane Devine, Sophia Rae Devine, and Bailey Renee Davis. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Carol Barton and Colleen Summerfield.
In honor of Mary’s life, contributions may be made to Tabitha’s House at Edgewood, 1918 Pulaski Hwy, Edgewood, Maryland 21040.
