Mary L. Kern

October 7, 1918 — June 28, 2005

MARY L. KERN, age 86, of Bel Air, died at Mariner Health of Forest Hill on June 28, 2005. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian Jubb Quade and the wife of the late Frederick G. Kern, Sr. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Mercy Hospital for 25 years. A resident of Northeast Baltimore for all of her life, she was a past girl scout leader and a past member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Baltimore. She was an air raid warden during WWII.

Mrs. Kern is survived by a son, Fred Kern of Bel Air; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Kern and Mary Madeline Kern, both of Abingdon; a sister, Anne Lavery of Bendersville, PA; a sister-in-law, Helen Russin Quade of Bethany Beach, Delaware; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren as well as 19 nieces and nephews.
