May 6, 1923 — February 13, 2017

Mary Kahoe Lynch passed away at Avondell Assisted Living Facility on Monday, February 13, 2017 at age 93. Born in Forest Hill she was the daughter of the late Stephen Michael Kahoe and Vivian Dare (Colgan) Kahoe. Mrs. Lynch attended St. Margaret's Elementary School, graduated from Bel Air High School in 1941 and attended Strayer Business School in Baltimore. She was married for 67 years to the late Paul Eugene ("Gene") Lynch, Sr. who died in 2013. She is survived by 7 children: Vivian Flanigan (John) of Howard County, Maryland; Margaret Calvert (Dick); Mary (Betty) E. Lynch; Paul E. Lynch, Jr. (Leah); Robert S. Lynch, Esquire (Barbara); Richard (Dick) D. Lynch (Debbie); and Patricia Bankert (William); all of Harford County. She is survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Irene Kahoe Boyle, of Bel Air. She was predeceased by her brothers Stephen M. Kahoe, Jr. and Robert (Bob) F. Kahoe, Sr. She had worked in the 1940's as a secretary at the Ballistics Research Labs on the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and was a homemaker for many years. She served as Treasurer for Lynch Builders, Inc., her late husband's homebuilding company. Mrs. Lynch was a volunteer for many years at Fallston General Hospital and successfully led the effort to save the original St. Mark's Catholic Church in Fallston from destruction. Through her negotiations with the Archdiocese of Baltimore the original church was disassembled and reconstructed on Mountain Road in Joppa and is known as St. Mary's Church. She was known as an accomplished seamstress and took pleasure making dresses and clothes for family and friends. In later years she traveled with her husband and spent time at her shore home in Tolchester, Maryland. She was a lifetime benefactor of Covenant House, a non-profit charity providing homeless youth with safe shelters across America.
