Mary J. Dickey, age 78, of Forest Hill, MD, died on November 15, 2009 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Norman Aloisius and Violet Josephine Scanlin Johnson, and wife, for 30 years, of the late Dean Monroe Dickey. A graduate of Seton High School, she was married in 1951, and as an army wife, spent time in Japan, Alabama, Virginia, and Maryland. Her husband passed away on November 14, 1979. She was devoted to her family, loved to sing, and liked photography.
Mrs. Dickey is survived by her children, Dean Eric Dickey and wife, Linda Ann, of northern VA, Marcia Mary Cole and husband, Paul Lewis, of Bel Air, MD, Vanessa Alicia Williams and husband, Hugh Francis, of Forest Hill, MD, Kevin Stuart Dickey and wife, Donna Marie, of Bel Air, MD, Karen Leah Dennis and husband, John Paul, of Forest Hill, MD, Kirk Philip Dickey and wife, Karen, of Bel Air, MD, and Keith Norman Dickey of Forest Hill, MD; sisters, Patricia DeClue of Catonsville, MD, Bernadette Fossler of Baltimore, MD, Kathleen Jones of PA, and Christine Mack of Ellicott City, MD; grandchildren, Dean Lee Dickey, Katie Lee Cole, Paul Matthew Cole, Mary Kelsey Williams, Kevin Alex Dickey, Erika Lynne Dickey, Emily Rose Dickey, Kirk Philip Dickey Jr., and Ryan Patrick Dennis. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Norman Aloisius Johnson, and sister, Violet Marie Curry.
Pallbearers will be Dean Lee Dickey, Paul Matthew Cole, R. Alex Dickey, John Dennis, Hugh Williams, and Ryan Patrick Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
