Mary Devine Humphries

Mary Devine Humphries, age 77, of White Hall, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at Madonna Heritage in Jarrettsville, Maryland.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late John and Marcella (Thoma) Devine and the devoted wife of the late Waymon Humphries. She lived a life filled with compassion and care, dedicating her career as a mother & baby nurse at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she supported countless families during life’s most precious moments.

Mary was a woman of many talents and interests. She found joy in creating beauty with her hands, knitting, and sewing quilts that warmed both body and soul. She was an avid reader and a passionate fan of women’s basketball, faithfully cheering on the UCONN and University of Maryland teams. Her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor brought laughter and light to those around her.

Mary’s warmth, wisdom, and laughter will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Christina (Nina) Revelle, and Elizabeth Humphries; sons, Patrick Humphries, and Michael Humphries; grandchildren, Jonah & Maya Revelle, and Rebecca, Thomas, Reagan and Ryan Humphries and sisters, Joanne, Marcella, and Christine Devine.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by brothers, John and Michael Devine.
