Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hens

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Hens, age 83, of Forest Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Carl and Thelma (Sturla) Vogel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Hens, Jr., with whom she shared many wonderful years.

Betty was an active and cherished member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she found joy and fellowship as part of the Walking with a Purpose Bible study group. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in all she did.

A devoted lover of animals, Betty welcomed many pets into her home over the years, giving them the love and care they deserved. She was also a passionate Baltimore Orioles fan, cheering for her favorite team through every season.

Betty's kindness, faith, and love for her family and animals will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and devotion that will continue to inspire those she touched.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Kathleen (Brian) Wilson, Carole M. (Late Jim Heflin) Heflin, Dorothea "Dottie" (Dennis) Quinn; brother, Carl J. (Terry) Vogel, Jr.; 8 nieces & nephews; 10 great nieces & nephews; and her beloved God children, Michael Heflin, Patrick Brice and Laura Elizabeth Maxwell.
