Mary Elizabeth Palewick

MARY ELIZABETH PALEWICK, age 96, of Abingdon, formerly of Long Bar Harbor Road, died in Harford Memorial Hospital on March 12, 2005. Born in Baltimore, one of 10 children, she was the wife of the late James R. Bracken, Sr. and the late August J. Palewick. She worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital for 1929-1969. Upon the death of her husband, James R. Bracken, Sr. in 1948, she took over the plumbing business and became a master plumber. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church for more than 40 years. She was very involved in charity work throughout her life. She was a member of Bush River Yacht Club where she enjoyed the social activities and many years of boating.

Mrs. Palewick is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Prahl of Cambridge; one brother, George Thomas of Baltimore; one sister, Catherine Evans of Maryland ; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
