Mary Elizabeth Federle

January 26, 1920 — December 2, 2003

MARY ELIZABETH FEDERLE, age 83, of Abingdon, Maryland died at her home on December 2, 2003. Born in Fancy Farm, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Irie and Ida May Stahr Willett and the wife of the late Arthur Charles Federle. At the age of 18, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she was married. She was active in her family’s lives all over the world. After she was widowed, she moved to California in 1980, to Virginia in 1997, and to Harford County in 1999. She was very giving of herself to others, helping seniors in everyday needs, tutoring incarcerated youth, teaching CCD, and mentoring to her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was very active in the different church parishes where she lived. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially proud of her grandson serving as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve in Kuwait and Iraq.

Mrs. Federle is survived by five sons, William Arthur Federle of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Frederick Joseph Federle of Cincinnati, Ohio; Philip Francis Federle of Vinceza, Italy; Steven Jerome Federle of Vallejo, California; Robert Patrick Federle of Livermore, California; three daughters, Martha Ann Reed of Swannanoa, North Carolina; Julia Elizabeth Matsunaga of Abingdon, Maryland; Amy Elizabeth Everson of Rancho Cordova, California; one brother, Joseph Emmanuel Willett of Crestview Hills, Kentucky; four sisters, Sister Clara Willett of Nazareth, Kentucky; Sister Rachel Willett of Nazareth, Kentucky; Lenora Turney of Annandale, Virginia; Celeste Russell of Paducah, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by four brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church, Deer Park, Ohio on Monday, December 8, 2003 at 10 a.m. with Father Tom Espelage officiating. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio. Friends may call at the church prior to the service from 9-9:45 a.m.
