Mary Doris Schindler

Mary Doris Schindler, 92, of Abingdon, MD passed away on December 10, 2015 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD she was the daughter of the late James J. Butta and Catherine (McGinnis) Butta and wife of the late Francis Leo Schindler Sr. A homemaker, she was an excellent mother and incredible wife, and loved animals, especially birds. She helped her husband with bookkeeping, loved doing crossword puzzles, and making crafts and ceramics. She was a former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Hickory.

Mrs. Schindler is survived by her son, Francis L. Schindler Jr. and wife, Janice, of Abingdon; daughter, Dorothy Schindler of Perry Hall; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, James A. Schindler; daughter, Mary Anita Reed; and sister, Norma Anne Bien.

Visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A. in Abingdon, MD on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 2-3 p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 8219 Town Center Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236 or The Salvation Army, P.O.
