Mary Diane Stapleton

Mary Diane Stapleton of Stewartstown, PA, formerly of Edgewood, MD died on July 2, 2016 at the age of 78 in Wellspan York Hospital in York, PA. Born in Baltimore, MD to Matilda Myrh (Ford) Shanahan and the late James Albert Shanahan, she was a Veterinary Assistant and dedicated her life to animals working for the Baltimore County Animal Shelter for 30 years. She was an avid reader, loved the beach and enjoyed watching cooking shows.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 46 years, Vincent R. Stapleton; sons, Michael Martinelli of Havre de Grace, Joseph Patrick Dunnigan (Laura Lynn) of Stewartstown, PA and Vincent Christopher Stapleton of Baltimore; daughter, Sandra McGarvey of Belcamp; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Victoria Smith.
