Mary Jane Cooper

Mary Jane Cooper (Mezzie), age 76, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on June 24, 2023 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Presque Isle, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Smith) Perrault and wife of Robert Earle Cooper, Sr. for 49 years in May.  She worked as a psychiatric nurse and nurse administrator at Johns Hopkins Hospital for over 47 years.  She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing degree from the University of Maine and her Master's degree in nursing from University of Maryland.  Mezzie was an advocate for patients and the nursing profession throughout her career.  The Love of her life was her husband, Bob.  She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.  Mezzie loved to sing, something she inherited from her father.  She particularly loved to talk with and sing with her sisters and friends from her hometown, Presque Isle, Maine.  Mezzie was an avid Ravens fan and loved spending the afternoon or evening watching them with Bob.  She will be missed.   

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her son, Gregory (Karen); daughter, Chelsey; step-sons, Robert, Jr. (Cherie), Kem (Iquo),  & Ron (Barbara); former son-in-law, Eric; former daughter-in-law, Michele; grandchildren, Mac & Sadie, Isaac & Macie, Robert III, Brandon, & Morgyn, Phillip, Timothy (Mariana), Amber (Gary), Kristen (Wesley) & Lauren, Christina (Corey) & Wayne; step-grandchildren, Jake & Jessie, Sarah & Jonathan; great-grandchildren; PJ & Camden, Ayden, Pily, & Edelyn, Caleb & Maria, Aaliyah & Bryce, Kyla, Kalea & Kalani, Jeffrey, Jaiden, & Jocellyn; sisters, Susan & Becky; niece claire, and nephew Jason

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sister, Joanie.

In keeping with Mary's wishes, we will be holding a casual celebration of life on Sunday, July 2 from 1 to 3 PM for family and her close friends. The location of the gathering will be Best Choice Driving School in Aberdeen Maryland; 200 N. Philadelphia Blvd., Aberdeen, MD 21001.   There will be an opportunity to share a story or reflections with the group if you feel moved to do so. Light refreshments will be served.  Please, no flowers.
