Mary Morgan, age 89, who was nominated one of Harford County's Beautiful People, passed away on August 3, 2010 in her home, which her husband Joe had built in 1954. She had been a resident of Harford County since 1952. Mary was born in Baltimore, MD on April 9, 1921, the daughter of George and Eva Dauses Tucholka. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Edgewood, MD, then in Bel Air during the 1950's and 1960's. She also worked at the Joppatowne Post Office where she retired, after 16 years of service, at the age of 63. She then accumulated more than 2400 hours of voluntary service in the gift shops of the Fallston and Upper Chesapeake Hospitals after her husband Joe died in 1985. She was also active in FISH at Holy Spirit Church in Joppa.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Morgan and his wife, Kathy, of Edgewood, MD; daughter, Mary Jo Holcomb and husband, Ken, of Joppa, MD; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Florence Baier of Baltimore, MD and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Vernon Morgan and her brother, Gerard Tucholka.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Fields, Rainie Prince Sr., Rainie Prince Jr., Mark Baier, Craig Baier, and Paul Baier.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church Rebuilding Fund, 540 Joppa Farm Road, Joppa, MD 21085 or Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, 500 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Bel Air, MD 21014.
