Mary Sherolds Cardwell

Mary Sherolds Cardwell, age 85, of Fallston, Maryland passed away on July 19, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Morningstar) Hormes and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert A. Cardwell, Sr. Mary worked for over 30 years as a unit secretary at Fallston General/ Upper Chesapeake Medical Center where she was loved and respected by her coworkers. She was a long-time parishioner at St. Mark Catholic Church in Fallston, MD. She enjoyed the beach, family vacations in Ocean City, and spending time with her family.   

Mary is survived by her daughters, Cathleen Smith, Lindsay (Don) Coates, and Sarah (Darren) Thompson; sons, Robert (Nancy) Cardwell, Jr., and James Cardwell; her grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Mary Kate Wiegand, Kristin Carr, Matthew and Taylor Coates, Julia Cardwell, and Meghan, Jack and Anna Thompson and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Hormes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, H. Denis Hormes.
