Mary B. Hooper, 85, of Edgewood, MD passed away on November 13, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Gibson, GA, she was the daughter of Freddie Lamar and Alma B. (Markin) Thompson and the wife of the late Pete Hooper Sr. Mrs. Hooper worked as a waitress at Edgewood Diner, made shoes at Bata Shoe Factory, was a mail carrier for Joppa Post Office, and retired from Edgewood Arsenal where she worked as a library technician. After retirement, she worked at Quinn’s in Edgewood doing manicures and shampooing. She also served as an election judge for many years. For pleasure, she enjoyed playing bingo, square dancing, camping, shopping, boating, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Hooper is survived by her children, Pete Hooper, Jr., and his wife De (Leesburg, FL), Robin S. Peterson (Bel Air, MD), Larry William Hooper and his wife Pam (Fallston, MD), and John L. Hooper and his wife Aileen (Forest Hill, MD); her grandchildren, Chris Caudill, Julie Bahr, Jason Hooper and Brandon Hooper; great grandchildren, Lindsey, Kallie, Macy and Jace; one brother, R. Glenn Thompson of Leesburg, FL; and one sister, Shirley Billings of Edgewood.
