MARVIN H. PRITCHER, age 87, of Bel Air, formerly of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, died in Gilchrist Hospice at Greater Baltimore Medical Center on January 4, 2004. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Franklin R. and Sarah Colwart Pritcher. He grew up in Beaufort, South Carolina and was president of his high school class and captain of the football team. In the mid 1930's he relocated to Philadelphia, PA where he began his 40 year career with the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He held many jobs with Firestone, rising through the ranks to become a district manager based in Baltimore and Syracuse, New York. He also held sales management positions in Baltimore, Reading, and Pottstown, PA. He retired in 1978.
He lived for 25 years in Sinking Spring, PA and since 1986 was a resident of Bel Air.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Claire Pritcher; three children, Susan Waldhauser of Fallston; Linda Pritcher Hoover of Providence, R.I. ; and Craig Pritcher of Arlington, VA; and seven grandchildren. A daughter, Barbara J. Kelly, died of cancer at age 45.
Mr. Pritcher enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was a handyman of the highest order.

Pallbearers will be Craig Pritcher, his two sons-in-law, George Waldhauser and Paul Hoover, a grandson, Steven Potter, and two grandsons-in-law, Steve Wiedermann and Victor Vitale.
