Martin H. Haas, age 85, of Joppa, MD passed away on February 22, 2014 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Martin Henry Haas Sr. and Marie Guntensberger Haas. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1950, he retired from the Maryland Port Authority, where he was a Transportation Administrator, after 30 years of service. He also worked for B&O Railroad as a station agent, Gordon Cartons in Baltimore and was Station Master in Bel Air and Towson for the MA & PA Railroad. One of his main interests was the Civil War, but he loved the Big Band Era and enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Haas is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Martha Kellner Haas; son, Jeffrey M. Haas of Towson; daughter, Nadine Haas Wellington and husband, Charles, of Forest Hill; sister, Dorothy V. Gilka of Sierra Vista, AZ; and grandchild, Spencer C. Wellington of Forest Hill.
