My beloved husband, Martin A. Marzicola passed peacefully from his earthly journey on the beautiful morning of May 17, 2010. Although he has left my sight, he continues to be by my side just as he has been for the past 55 years.
Martin grew up in the same house that he was born in on August 9th, 1928 in Edgewood, Maryland. He attended school on Edgewood Arsenal, Old Post Road High School and continued his studies at the University of Maryland. Martin served his country in World War II at the age of 17 and eventually, upon his return home, continued his service as a Civilian Personnel Officer at Edgewood Arsenal until 1979. Martin loved his country and made sure that our flag flew at our home each day. He served as Chaplain for the American Legion Post #17, the same Post his father, Peter, organized in 1918. Martin served his community as president of the West Bel Air Civic Association and election judge for many years.
In recognition of Martin's genuine humility, I close by simply saying he had a beautiful life, well lived and loved.
A memorial service will be held today, Wednesday, May 19th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1200 Churchville Road in Bel Air at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
My family and I graciously thank you for your prayers and support.
