Martha Kathleen Swecker Rufenacht, age 87, of Bel Air, Maryland, peacefully passed away on January 5, 2024. Born in Valley Head, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Carvil and Elva (Simmons) Swecker and the devoted wife of the late Bill Rufenacht.
Martha was a cherished member of Mountain Christian Church, where her passion for music shone brightly. She was actively involved in the church choirs and dedicated over 30 years of her life as a member of His Harvesters Gospel Quartet. Martha's love for music extended beyond the church, as she served as a music teacher at Bel Air High and then Hickory Elementary School until 1972. Following her teaching career, she continued to share her musical talents by offering private lessons.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Tom (wife Jami) Rufenacht and Robert (wife Wendy) Rufenacht, as well as her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial Service to be held on February 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at Mountain Christian Church Walker Chapel with a meal to follow in the Cafe.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Mountain Christian Church at 1824 Mountain Road, Joppa, MD 21085.
