MARLIN MITCHELL McKAUGHAN JR., age 75, of Joppa, MD, died on May 26, 2008 at his daughter's home. Born in Atkins, VA, he was the son of the late Marlin Mitchell McKaughan Sr. and Ruth Marie Umbarger McKaughan, and husband, for over 50 years, of the late Betty Jo McKaughan. A resident of Joppa for 52 years, he enjoyed working as a welder and fabricator and was known as Pop-Paw to his grandchildren.
Mr. McKaughan is survived by two sons, Mitchell E. McKaughan and David W. McKaughan, both of Joppa, MD; two daughters, Patricia A. Lavicott of Oviedo, FL and Sidna R. Hinnant of Darlington, MD; a brother, Ted F. McKaughan of Forest Hill, MD; a sister, Donna J. McKaughan of Seattle, WA; eight grandchildren, Tina Marie Cimino of Hampstead, MD, Shawn Lee McKaughan and Jessica Lynn McKaughan both of Joppa, MD, Joseph Marlin Touchek of Oviedo, FL, Daniel Alan Keiseter of Darlington, MD, Jill Aleksis Hinnant, Aleksandra Michelle Hinnant, and Donald Ray Hinnant III, all of Darlington, MD; one great-grandson, Aiden Robert Cimino of Hampstead, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Harold Cecil McKaughan, a sister, Melba Richardson, and a granddaughter, Patricia Sue Christian.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell McKaughan, David McKaughan, Daniel Keiseter, Ted McKaughan, Butch Hinnant, and Scott Wise.
