Mark Nicholas Jacovitte, age 68, of Bel Air, MD passed away on July 21, 2018 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Peter Ernest and Jessica (Horn) Jacovitte. Mark graduated from Bel Air High School in 1967, and was a 1970 graduate of Harford Community College. In 1971 he attended Towson State University and also took graduate classes at Morgan State University. From 1974-1982 Mark was the Head Wrestling Coach at Bel Air High where he also coached football. In the 1990’s he coached wrestling and football at C. Milton Wright High. His love was wrestling and he coached at area schools for 50 years. He also taught Shop and Phys Ed. Aside from his contributions to sports, Mark also loved to travel. He owned and operated Jacovitte Contracting from 1982 until the present and was a member of the Mid Atlantic Carpenters Union where he was an instructor. He also served in the National Guard from 1969-1975.
Mr. Jacovitte is survived by his wife, Sally Cevasco Jacovitte; son, Nicholas P. Jacovitte; daughter, Laura (Ronald) L. Jacovitte-Stafford; cousin, John Balogh; step-son, Jesse (Sarah) Thompson; step-daughter, Jenna (Mark) Steketee; five grandchildren, Santino Jacovitte, Rosa Jacovitte, Porter Ross-Jacovitte, Adrianne Jacovitte, and Faith Jacovitte; three step-grandchildren, Evan Steketee, Sadie Steketee, and John Furey Thompson.
Contributions may be made to the Bel Air High School and Harford Tech High School wrestling programs.
