Mark Christopher Testerman

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark Christopher Testerman announces his passing at the age of 55 on February 6th, 2023. Mark was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late James Carl Testerman Sr. and Janet Marie (Devonshire) Testerman on July 2nd, 1967. He grew up in Port Deposit, MD and graduated from Perryville High School in 1985.

Mark was a skilled and versatile handyman and worked for many years in the construction industry. He was known by his immediate family as the "Candy Crush" champion, reaching level 8,656. Mark had a tough exterior which softened for his children and his beloved rescue dog, Charlie. He cared deeply for his family and was passionate about carrying on family traditions.

In 2019, Mark was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and given 6 weeks to live without treatment. Mark made significant improvements after receiving ongoing treatment through the Kaufman Cancer Center. While his cancer diagnosis was only a small part of Mark's journey, his response serves as an example of his resilience, tenacity, and strength. Mark beat the odds and lived nearly 3 and a half more happy years with his family after his diagnosis, for which they are incredibly grateful.

Mark's legacy will live on through his wife of 26 years, Jenna-Leigh Testerman and his children; Kaila-Leigh Testerman (fiancé Brandon Nunley) of Bel Air, MD, Jacob Christopher Testerman of Rising Sun, MD, and Grace Marie Testerman of Rising Sun, MD. They will think of him whenever they hear Rock N' Roll Music. They will cook his favorite recipes, many of which he passed on from his mother, Janet. They will never forget his words of advice to stick together, and to be there for one another. Most importantly, they will never question whether they made him proud, because he told them so.

In addition to his wife, children, and his dog Charlie, Mark is survived by his sister, Michele Yale (James “Bud” Yale) of Florida; his brother, James Testerman of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Marie Testerman, his father, James Carl Testerman, and his brother, Gary Lynn Testerman.
