Mark Alan Rapkins

Mark Alan Rapkins, age 58, of Forest Hill, MD, passed away Sunday, February 12th, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Donna Rapkins; father, David Alan Rapkins; brother, David Rapkins; stepmother, Renee Rapkins; daughter, Charlotte Manganaro; and a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mark was born on 26 February 1964 in Portsmouth, England. After primary school, he attended University and finished with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a pharmaceutical rep for several years before moving to Paris, France. He spent four years working and living a Parisian life before accepting a project management position with a company based in the U.S. Shortly after moving to Morristown, NJ, he met his soon-to-be wife, Donna. They were wed in a small ceremony in October of 1998 and together, they lived and worked in New Jersey and for more than 20 years, they have called Maryland home.

Mark was an avid woodworker with a particular eye to detail. He is remembered as tirelessly working for hours on his many handcrafted cabinetries, tables, rocking chairs, and the like. Mark enjoyed watching Formula 1 racing and Rugby matches, often commenting on how “soft” NFL players are in comparison. Mark loved sailing and everything to do with boating. He, along with a close-knit group of avid sailors, would spend time every summer cruising the Chesapeake and talking about everything from bow to stern. Mark cared and loved in a way that was his own. He had a sarcastic sense of humor that could always draw a smile. He is and will be missed by all who knew him.
