Marjorie H. Busch

July 18, 1923 — August 15, 2021

Marjorie (Marge) Horne Busch (formerly Gravatt), age 98, resident of Brightview Avondell in Bel Air, went to the loving care of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 15, 2021. She was born to Carolyn R. and Robert S. Horn on July 18, 1923 in Sunderland, MA. She grew up in NJ, graduating from Metuchen H.S. and Douglass College (Rutgers University).

In 1945, she married David P. Gravatt, Jr. Upon his discharge and many moves from Tacoma, WA to NC & VA, the family settled in Lutherville, MD. The marriage ended in 1974.

Marge was the Financial Secretary then Director of Havenwood Day School in Timonium, MD for 16 years.
In 1979, she married John A Busch. They retired to Kent Island on the shores of Crab Alley Bay in 1986. John passed away in 1994.

In retirement, Marge lived life to the fullest as a charter member Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church; a charter member of Blue Heron Ladies Golf League; a charter member of Estate Treasures for Compass Regional Hospice; a Kent Island Yacht Club member, an avid bridge player, plus pinochle and mah-jongg, and enjoyed line dancing. She moved to Avondell in 2018, making new friends and enjoying card games and Wii bowling.

Marge was truly the family matriarch. God has blessed us in having her in our lives and family. She will be missed, but her reunion in Heaven with loved ones brings us great peace and comfort. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Pete) McCallum of Street, MD, sons, Douglas (Pat) Gravatt of McGaheysville, VA; Scott (Denise) Gravatt of Lyme, CT and Glenn (Debbie) Gravatt of Harpers Ferry, WV; step-daughters Linda Nedelka of Kutztown, PA and Joyce (Steve) Asplen of Chesapeake City, MD; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, John, ex-husband, David Gravatt, and brother Robert Horne, Jr.

An outdoor celebration of life will be held at the Highland Presbyterian Church grove, 701 Highland Rd, Street, MD on October 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church.
