Marion "Cheese" Parker, 84, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on November 29, 2014 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Pittsville, MD, he is the son of the late Ralph Jonathon and Martha Gertrude Timmons Parker. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country in the Korean War. A teacher, he attended Salisbury State College earning his Bachelor's degree and Wesleyan University in Connecticut earning his Master's degree. He taught 1 year at Deal Island High School, and 27 years in Harford County Public Schools including 8th grade science at Edgewood Middle School and also at Edgewood Senior High School, where he was their first soccer coach. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Abingdon, avid Orioles and Ravens fan, was very active in the Boy Scouts as a committee chairperson when his boys were young, and loved playing games with his grandkids.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sallie Taylor Parker; sons, Thomas Leroy Parker of Street, Frederick E. Parker of Bel Air and William R. Parker and his wife, Amy, of Bel Air; sister, Jane Bristow of Murrells Inlet, SC; and grandchildren, Katherine and John Parker.
Pallbearers will be Joe Shafer, Thomas Mitchell, Bill, Tom and Fred Parker and Ralph Trautwein.
