Marilyn Evelyn Kelly, 94, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at Sterling Care Bel Air.
Born on December 28, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, Marilyn was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Stubenrauch) Myers. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard Kelly, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years of marriage.
Being the matriarch of the family, Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her three children: Kathleen Kelly, Bel Air, Maryland, David Kelly and his wife, Margaret (Angert), Bel Air, Maryland, and Patricia Kelly, Bel Air, Maryland. She was the proud grandmother of Emily Kelly, Christopher DeMonte, and Elizabeth Kelly. She is also survived by her nieces: Linda (Wyman) Wilkie, Susan (Wyman) Martin, Nancy (Wyman) Adams, and Cindy (Wyman) Lyday of Michigan, children to the late Lorraine (Myers) Wyman, her sister. Marilyn was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Karol Ann Kelly, and her nephew, Charles “Pete” Wyman.
Faith and community were central to Marilyn’s life. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, where she generously volunteered her time in the church office. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra in the car with her grandchildren, going to the beach with her family, and frequently visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. She also had quite the green thumb when it came to gardening.
Marilyn will be remembered for her contagious laugh, outgoing nature, and bubbly personality. She had a unique ability to make friends wherever she went.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to First Presbyterian Church of Bel Air (224 N. Main Street, Bel Air, MD 21014) or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society-Maryland Chapter (100 Painters Mill Road, Suite 800, Owings Mills, MD 21117).
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
