Marie Vales

Marie Vales, age 83, of Forest Hill, MD passed away on December 31, 2017 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Rayville, MD, she was the daughter of Mark Richard and Ruth May (Krebs) Stiffler and was the wife of the late Russell Vales. She drove a school bus for Harford County Schools for 14 years during the 1960's and 1970's retiring in 1979. She held multiple secretarial positions during her life, including Sixth District Elementary School, Union Chapel and Bethel United Methodist Churches. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church for 61 years where she had been involved in the bereavement committee, recruited for the ushers and lay readers, choir member, SPRC, Bible studies, United Methodist Women and former church secretary. She was also a member of the Madonna AARP. She enjoyed reading, travelling with her AARP group, watching the Orioles and the Ravens, and roller skating. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Vales is survived by her son, David O. Williams and his wife, Janice, of Silver Spring; two nieces, Esther M. Showalter of Aberdeen and Mary R. Bull of Shrewsbury, PA; grandson, Jason Williams; three granddaughters, Allison Abrahamson, Kristin Do and Jenna Williams; great-granddaughter, Makayla Williams; great-grandson, Parker Abrahamson; four brothers, Melvin Stiffler of Dallastown, PA, Leonard Stiffler of Shrewsbury, PA, Carroll Stiffler of Punta Gorda, FL and Walter Stiffler of Red Lion, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by former husband, Ashton O. Williams, son, Mark R. Williams, sisters, Gertrude Turnbaugh and Dorothy Bull, and brothers, Donald and Robert Stiffler..
