MARIE JEFFERS, age 85, of Joppa, died at her home on September 25, 2005. Born in Old Town, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy David and Clittis Albertia Sparks Moxley, and the wife of the late Elwood C. Jeffers who died in 1975. She had retired after 30 years of service from her job with the government where she worked as a supervisor of Reproduction Center at the Edgewood Arsenal. She was a member of the Grandview Christian Church and worked in the nursery at the church. She was always able to find time to help others. She was devoted to her family and beloved by her friends and the community.
Mrs. Jeffers is survived by one son, David E. Jeffers of Baltimore; two sisters, Myrtle Quinn of Covenston, Virginia and Mickie Remines of Aberdeen; two grandchildren, Bonnie Ruth Hudson of Baltimore and Daniel David Jeffers of Alexandria, Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Jason Surplus and Melvin Hutson, III, both of Baltimore. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, James Crawford Jeffers; three brothers, Lester Moxley, Woodrow Moxley, and Roger Moxley; and one sister, Lucille Corbin.
Pallbearers will be: Edward Kimmel, Jason Surplus, Melvin Hutson, III, Jeff Champmess, Paul Wingate, and Rick Hutson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grandview Christian Church, 2022 Fallston Road, P.O. Box 358, Fallston, Maryland 21047 or to the Joppa Magnolia V.F.C., 1403 Old Mountain Road South, Joppa, Maryland 21085.
