MARIE ELIZABETH NOCK, age 89, of Edgewood, MD, died on November 12, 2007 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Louis and Mary Elizabeth (Kubik) Keller and wife of the late Robert Harry Nock. She lived to be 89 years young. Many years ago, Marie was a waitress at the Carrolton House in Downtown Pittsburgh. Many celebrities and local dignitaries purposely visited the restaurant asking for Marie’s station. She was so courteous, pleasant and very efficient at her job. She took the bus to work every day and walked home from the bus stop, frequently carrying goodies from Rhea’s Bakery. For the past five years, she visited with her daughters in Florida, Pittsburgh, Georgia, and Maryland. Never complaining about where she was next, she fit in everywhere she went. Your friends were her friends. Everyone loved “Grandma”. Her only complaint was why we couldn’t all be together.
Mrs. Nock is survived by a son, Robert Nock Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; three daughters, Joanie Mitchell of Largo, FL, Jean Newman of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Judi Harris of Edgewood, MD; nine grandchildren; Deneen Story of Georgia, Sara Erwin of Pennsylvania, Mike Harris Jr. of Maryland, Michelle Quinn of Maryland, Robert Newman of Texas, Nora Nock of Ohio, Scott Harris of Maryland, Robert Nock of North Carolina, and Doug Nock of Maryland; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
