MARIE EDER, age 94, of Forest Hill, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on August 5, 2005.
Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Seitz Wolf, and the wife for 55 years of the late Michael Eder.
A resident of Harford County since 1962, she was a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and currently a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
Marie met her husband at Esskay, where she worked briefly, and they were married soon after. Marie and her husband liked gardening and were very proud of their flowers at their modest home in Essex. After moving to Bel Air, they continued gardening and added a greenhouse where they raised orchids for a number of years.
They also liked to take automobile trips mostly in the eastern states, but a least once to the northwest as far as Banff, Canada. Marie also joined her husband once on a return trip to his native Germany. After her husband’s death in 1984, she liked to join her daughters and their husbands on many of their vacations.
Marie also loved to crochet and made afghans for all of her grandchildren.
Mrs. Eder is survived by one son, Michael D. Eder and his wife, Helen, of Bel Air; four daughters, Dorothy Suehle of Essex, Nancy Lilley and her husband, Ralph, of Calabash, North Carolina, Carol Lehr and her husband, Bob, and Rosalie Cummings and her husband, Tom, all of Forest Hill; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one great-grandson.
Those who desire may contribute to St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 533 East Jarrettsville Road, Forest Hill, Maryland 21050.
