Marie Crusse

Marie Crusse, 89, of Joppa, MD, passed away January 24, 2013 at Forest Hill Health and Rehab. Born in Munich, Germany, she was the daughter of Frank and Jenny Smith (Schmitt). She was three years old when she came to this country with her family.

At a young age she helped out in her family's bakery. She later worked at the Continental Can Company, then met and married John Crusse. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, caring for her many plants and flowers, and was a member of the Joppatowne Golden Age Club for several years. She also had a passion for animals and their well-being..…especially dogs.

She is survived by her husband John Crusse; daughters, Iris Kimmel of Joppa, Janice Crusse of Edgewood and Carolyn Mitchum and husband, Tim, of Joppa, along with Terry Patterson of Baltimore who was like her fourth daughter. She also survived by grandchildren Kevin Kimmel, Kelly LaValley, Keith Kimmel, Sean Mitchum and Kyle Mitchum all of Joppa; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Harrison.
